Hey, guys. Where are you going?” said Arun.

“Oh, hi Arun! I forgot you were coming today. I actually got invited to speak at a conference, and I’m going. You can come too,” said Vera.

“What is a conference?” asked Bubbles.

“A conference is a formal meeting with people who share the same interests. Today’s conference will be about elephants. I was invited because I’m the best in the field, and since I’m also an elephant, I can provide a personal perspective. Let’s go; we’re late,” replied Vera.

“Are you coming, Arun?” questioned Vera.

“Yes, sure, I’m coming. Let’s go,” said he.

“We’re going to walk there. We should always walk if it’s not too far instead of putting more types of oxides into the environment,” Vera explained.

“What are oxides?” asked Arun.

“Oxides are types of gases, like carbon monoxide, that can be harmful to the atmosphere and the environment,” Vera clarified.

“Arun, get on my back. It would be a long walk for a human,” said Vera.

“Okay, let’s go,” said Arun.

“Finally, we’ve reached! It took such a long time,” said Bubbles.

“Sit there. I have to go onto the stage,” Vera requested.

“Testing, one, two, three,” said a worker.

“Hey, guys! Do all of you know Dumbo? He’s the elephant in the animated movie Dumbo. Most of you kids must have watched it, right? So, like I told you before, Dumbo is an elephant. Did you guys also know that elephants are extremely endangered? The main reasons for their endangerment are habitat loss, which is when a part of an ecosystem is cut down, and animals lose their homes. The second reason is poaching, which is when hunters kill animals for something. In this case, most hunters kill elephants for their tusks. There are also people called trophy hunters; they kill elephants just to say, ‘I killed an elephant.’ To be honest, I don’t like them. Why would they kill elephants just to gloat? Well, because some humans are like that, but not all. If, unfortunately, you meet a hunter, share this knowledge with them. Thank you,” Vera addressed the audience.

“That was amazing, Vera. I would love to attend more of your conferences. I need to go now; it’s late. I’ll see you in a couple of days. Bye, Vera and Bubbles,” said Arun.
