Meet Dhirtiman Bora of Biswanath Chariali, Guwahati, who has invented bamboo bottles that are 100 per cent leak-proof and is a step towards reducing the use of plastic bottles from our daily lives. Leak-proof bamboo bottles
For entrepreneur Dhritiman Bora, it took 17 years to invent bamboo water bottles that are leak-proof. And within no time he has created a buzz in the domestic and international market. These bottles are completely organic and are made with durable bamboo — bhaluka (Bambusa balcooa). The outer layer of these bottles is polished with a waterproof oil polish that gives it a glossy finish. Interestingly, the cork is also made of bamboo. (Image: assamclicksdot.com)
USP of the bottle
As the bottle is made with bamboo shoot and is completely organic, it keeps the water cool throughout the day even during scorching summers. You will be surprised to know, that even the cork is made of bamboo and is completely leak proof.

What’s the vision?

Pricing and availability
Available on e-commerce websites in varied sizes and shapes, these organic bottles are priced between INR 400-Rs 600. According to Dhritiman, it takes around 4-5 hours in making one bottle that involves the process of cutting, boiling, drying, smoking, joining and finishing the bamboo. (Image: Facebook)
