The most burning question in today’s life is “What Technology does to us and what it does for us”?
Are we building a better world and for whom? What happens when the mind meets the computer?
A computer has given us the facility of simulation and visualization, which are the basics of the development of newer technologies. In the series, the question is not what computers will be like in the future, but rather what humans will be like.

Because it’s only the human which is going to be affected and not the technology which will keep on growing, rather at a much faster pace. We live in a culture of narcissism. The ‘narcissistic’ classic problem involves loneliness.
The addition of electronic gadgets allows us to be loner, and yet never be alone. When computers were primitive machines and began to be analogized to people, people were superior because of their superior intellect. As the computers became smarter, the emphasis shifted to soul and spirit in the human.
Simulated thinking can be thinking, but Simulated feeling can never be the real feeling. It’s only the feeling which draws a clear line between human and machines. Everybody believes that we are living in an era where technology has taken over human intelligence.

AI, Robotics, Blockchain, and IOT are the reality and have already created a space in our lives. The reason is, machines can expertly handle repetitive and automated tasks and always be faster and also be more precise. But human skills are needed to bridge the gap between technology and people.
It was just over a decade ago, cell phones were primarily used for calling and sending texts only. Today, the use of cell phones runs the gamut. They do everything from taking higher resolution pictures to watching pixel-perfect videos, browsing the internet to playing graphic-intensive games to monitoring movements.
Time is not of far off when 3D interactions will be a reality. Today, we are experiencing rather preoccupied with virtual realities. People blur the boundaries between their ONLINE and OFFLINE life. What it means to be human will be a big question, because psychological dynamics between people and technology are increasingly redefining.
We are ill-prepared rather not prepared for the new PSYCHOLOGICAL WORLD we are creating. We are creating machines, tools, and dynamic systems, that challenge the power of our creator. This is is also a fact that technology is here to stay. It is always morphing and expanding despite all its positive and negative effects.
A study demonstrated that exposure to the blue light that devices emit can suppress melatonin and interrupt the circadian clock of the body. Both of these effects can make it harder to fall asleep. Another research found that those with high social media users felt more socially isolated in comparison to those who spent less time on social media.
It has also been found that there’s an association between excessive internet and depression combined with aggressive behavior. But is also true that we have become more comfortable and closer through our intimate connections with the technology that we have allowed onto and into our personal lives.
Machines have changed the way we think about ourselves. Technology is more than an abstract concept associated with advanced tools and systems for convenience and automation of complex tasks.
It also shapes the way societies and people evolve, grow, develop and behave, both within their own lives and in their relationships with others. Technology has both eliminated a gap and created one. For sustainable development, we need an innovative and inclusive culture. But an imbalance in this is creating a fissure in society.
Human interactions and relationships have largely decreased, while intimacy and human-to-human interaction have been replaced with human-to-machine interactions. Technology has modified human behavior by creating a gap between people to people.

As a globalized world increases, the intertwining of societies and cultures via social media and the internet has developed a unique culture, where all the cultures get merged. Technology does have the ability to bridge gaps when used correctly. It has greatly improved communication worldwide.
It has improved the efficiency of transportation. It has played a vital role in arranging all the facilities at the push of the button in our lives. It has given people all over the world the opportunity to engage with others in a powerful, albeit, differently.
But despite all these, human skills, creativity, innovation, adaptability, empathy, integrity, and imagination are more important and imperative for the overall development of society. Using the most sophisticated technology, and its reckless advertisement fills our minds with lust and greed of unlimited desires.
In a world of limited resources and unlimited desires, with unreasonable, and unrestricted use of technology will take the whole of humanity at a point of no return. Time is not very far off. The choice is ours.
