Nearly two months after Thailand’s pygmy hippo Moo Deng went viral, an adorable three-year-old golden tiger named Ava has become the latest star at a zoo in the Southeast Asian country.

Chiang Mai Night Safari shared stunning photos of Ava on Facebook, delighting animal lovers worldwide.

Ava was born on February 16, 2021, alongside her sister Luna, making her public debut three weeks later. Their parents, brought to the safari park from the Czech Republic and South Africa in 2015, are part of a rare Bengal tiger variant, South China Morning Post reports.

Golden tigers like Ava and Luna are characterised by a recessive gene that gives their fur a unique golden hue, making them incredibly rare.

Visitors to the Chiang Mai Night Safari can see Ava and Luna at the Tiger World zone daily between 11am and 2pm.

Moo Deng, the baby pygmy hippo who lives at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, eastern Thailand, has captured global attention since September.
