Vera! Shouted Ella, the humans came! Again, I’m worried remember what they did with Spix’s Macaw. They went extinct because the humans did a process called deforestation which means cutting trees on a large scale. The Spix’s Macaw went extinct because of loss of habitat which is the reduction in the amount of space where a particular species can survive, responded Vera.

Suddenly Bubbles chimed in and asked “Why do humans do Deforestation? Vera replied “Humans do it for many purposes some of which are, Making space for agriculture, To obtain wood for fuel, Manufacturing, Construction and commercial purposes” Many animals have gone extinct because of deforestation and loss of habitat 4 of which are Spix’s Macaw, The Formosan clouded leopard, The Cryptic treehunter and The mount Glorious torrent frog.

Vera you told us about animals that have gone extinct. What about the animals that are about to go extinct? Blurted Ella. Vera responded, Well There are many animals that about to go extinct because of loss of habitat but 3 of them are, Tigers There  are only 3000 tigers currently alive, Sumatran elephants There are less them 2000 of them found. Wait! Interrupted Bubbles aren’t we Sumatran elephants?  Yes bubbles we are also Sumatran elephants and The Saola Its estimated that there are less than 500 left, Continued Vera.

Well, if we are also endangered can we also go extinct? There must be some way to prevent this. Uttered Bubbles. The some of the things that humans can do to prevent deforestation and loss of habitat is, Reforestation which is the process of planting trees on a large scale, The 3 R’s Humans should reuse, reduce and recycle. Reduce fossil fuels, Use compost made from organic waste, Etc. Said Vera.

Guys! Ella abruptly said while looking at a child. What, why are you scared, It’s just a child Said bubbles. Suddenly the child slowly approached. She murmured “HI, I overheard you. I wasn’t aware, Can you tell me more on how deforestation affects biotic things on our plants?” Vera responded “Hmm, Some ways how deforestation is affecting the climate are, like I said before deforestation means cutting trees on a large scale and trees give oxygen and take carbon dioxide. So when the process of deforestation happens more and more carbon dioxide is left out in the air that affects all the biotic things in our environment. ”

Oh, I didn’t know this. I’ll call my dad immediately. He is the one who is leading this project on deforestation. He will shut down the project immediately. Thank you for telling me all of this I will tell it to all my friends and family, Said the child while walking away.
