Carbon neutrality, artificial intelligence may become mega trends in the foreseeable future: Madhu Kela 1

Carbon neutrality refers to achieving equilibrium between the release of carbon emissions and the absorption of carbon from the atmosphere.

Market veteran Madhu Kela, believes that carbon neutrality is not just a trend; it’s a mega trend that will define the trajectory of many industries for years to come.

“I personally feel that the whole carbon neutrality thing is a very large theme and it is a much bigger problem than what the world is talking about. Even in India, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Sajjan Jindal, all are taking of investing billions of dollars in green energyelectric vehicle etc. So the carbon neutrality theme is a mega trend for the next many years,” Kela said in an interview to CNBC-TV18.

Kela’s recent investment in Waaree, a private company in the green sector, further exemplifies his confidence in this trend. There will be billion dollar value creation opportunity in green sectors, Kela added.

In addition to carbon neutrality, Kela also shed light on two sectors that have recently witnessed significant gains: defence and railways. Kela feel these sectors have started to see some euphoria from a near term perspective.

Kela recognises that the world is on the cusp of another seismic shift in the business landscape: artificial intelligence (AI). According to Kela, AI is an event of monumental proportions, occurring approximately two decades after the internet’s invention.

AI promises to disrupt numerous industries while simultaneously presenting significant opportunities for those who harness its power, he stated.
