Getting Rid of the Plastic Pandemic

The gravity of the plastic menace is now widely acknowledged, and numerous initiatives have been implemented to contain, decrease, and eradicate plastic pollution. For example, Amazon and Flipkart, two of India’s major e-commerce companies, have replaced all single-use plastic in their packing with paper cushioning in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s edict, which asked Indians to stop using single-use plastic by 2022.

Because of its unique and extremely profitable characteristics, plastic is employed everywhere in today’s globe. In fact, it is difficult to envisage a world without plastics. However, the process generates a substantial quantity of plastic garbage (6.3 billion tonnes since 1950). Many attempts are being undertaken to minimise and recycle plastic trash, and developments in this field are increasing.

Here are five of the most creative solutions to the plastic trash problem:

The sneaker is known as the Ultra Boost Parley, and it was created in conjunction with the environmental nonprofit Parley for the Oceans. Parley retrieved 740 tonnes of plastic debris from the Indian Ocean in 2016. Adidas used this garbage, along with some shirts, to create its shoe line.

Oil Produced from Plastic Waste

As intriguing as the other recycled plastic ideas on this list seem, when it comes to solving the plastic waste problem, this one gets the top spot. Recycling Technologies has developed a system that can convert recycled plastic into three different types of oil. This breakthrough will undoubtedly assist to change the course of plastics history.

If you are a maker or buyer of innovative plastic goods, you should exhibit at or attend Plastiworld 2019. It is India’s largest single platform for completed plastic product makers and buyers to network and create business relationships.
