Today, when we get up in the morning, our life starts with so many ifs, buts, anxieties, insecurities, uncertainties, and finally, associated preconceived fears. Every part of our life is tethered by unending external factors—ranging from environmental issues to social stigmas, local government policies to global pressures, personal responsibilities to professional commitments.
Nobody can predict when, and for what reason, a stable life—be it that of an individual, a community, or even a state, as we have seen in Ukraine and Gaza—can turn upside down within no time. Now, this is a financial world, and our life is over-dependent on economic ups and downs. Unfortunately, the most sellable product in the world today is FEAR, the by-product of confusion, chaos, conflicts, and control over human consciousness.

To induce and intensify fear, in addition to economic turmoil, there are clusters of threats that have become more prominent—from AI-controlled digital technologies to inequalities, from conflicts to power struggles, and from climate change to health care. These help in creating an environment where only anxieties and insecurities germinate.
Fear, anxieties, and insecurities take up space in our minds and distract us from our essence, our enoughness, and our resourcefulness. If we unconsciously allow them to control our minds, they become our reality. In one of Churchill’s quotes, he said: “When I look back on all the worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had lots of troubles in his life, most of which had never happened.”
Anxiety is nothing but repeatedly re-experiencing failures in advance, and “Fear is compound interest paid on a debt we may not even owe.” In fact, no amount of anxiety can make any difference to what is going to happen. Also, “Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength—creating the burden of carrying both at one time.”
Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never takes you anywhere. Anxiety and insecurities are a natural response to fears, but they are deceiving. We all strive for unrealistic perfection. Perfectionism is a narrow focus—unnatural because it eliminates the imperfection and messiness that are naturally woven into our lives.
Specifically, our mind is conditioned to protect us from any form of harm, shame, embarrassment, fear, uncertainty, or anxiety—anything that causes discomfort. Since life has lots of discomforts arising out of multiple uncontrollable factors, we can keep our comforts intact only “by flowing along, from moment to moment.”
When we begin to flow with life and start trusting its wisdom, we stop drawing a line between comforts and discomforts. Simply by accepting each and every experience, whatever comes up, we can avoid insecurity—because there would be nothing to protect. “The virus of anxiety and insecurities lies only in the protection of something.”

Uncertainty and human insecurity have, throughout history, been not only the underlying condition but also the engine for what we call development and growth. When we acknowledge the feelings of insecurity as inadequacy and as a normal part of the human experience—instead of avoiding them—we can channelise the hidden energy behind them into setting targets and goals.
Thereby, we can transform them into preparedness and planned actions to improve and overcome challenges. This process transforms uncertainty into a catalyst for overall development, fostering resilience and stronger solutions.
