Tulsi is also known as holy basil. It used as a medicine in Ayurveda and it also good for health, but in Hindus Tulsi is not only plant it is a goddess Lakshmi. Tulsi is Avatar of Lakshmi and does the wife of the God Vishnu. In story Tulsi is a wife of jalandhara. In Hindus there is a special festival for Tulsi known as Tulsi Vivah. This ceremony is performed between prabodhini Ekadashi to Kartik Purnima usually on 11th or 12th full moon  day. It is a wedding of Tulsi plant to God Vishnu, it marks the end of the four month chaturmas period, after this wedding, wedding season is started in India.

Tulsi is also known as queen of herbs and there are three type of Tulsi in India.

They are:-

  • Rama Tulsi
  • Shyama Tulsi
  • Vana Tulsi

1 Rama Tulsi:- this is also known as green leaf Tulsi. This is a different type of Tulsi the flavour of this plant are likely purple in colour. It found in cloves and has a mellow flavour.

2 Shyama Tulsi:- shyama tulsi is also known as Krishna tulsi this is also known as purple leaf Tulsi. In India this Tulsi is found in almost every house. The taste of it is like pepper. This to say is also used as medicine in Ayurveda and protect us from infection, earaches ant skin diseases also from malaria, insomnia etc. And its oil is also good for ears.

3 vana tulsi:- vana tulsi is mostly found in India, sri lanka and some part of northern Africa. The plant is usually used as a medicine. Does plant need protection from cold place and need Sunny and dry area to grow. Colour of this plant are likely green and flavour is lemon aroma. Just to see increase immunity power in human body, also used for preparing tea. It also provide many type of healthy benefits.

  • To boost immunity you can prefer Tulsi steam to make it you can take 1/4 cup of water and 2-3 Tulsi leaves and boil them together. After first boil, bring down the heat to low and let it brew for about 10 minutes. Also add 1 teaspoon of honey and two teaspoon of lime juice and strain.
  • You can also chew 12 leaves twice in a day to maintain overall health.
