“When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.”

Turmeric is one of the mainstays in any Indian cooking, be it curry, a healing ointment, or a “haldi vala dudh” (Turmeric flavored Milk/Golden milk latte) which I’m sure most of you were compelled to have it, every time that you returned home with scraped knee or had a terrible cold, despite not being its biggest fan and strongly denouncing its awful taste. And what’s amusing is, it worked, it worked as a charm! Maybe its time we learn a little something about it.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF TURMERIC

Turmeric for Skin

Turmeric holds the cure to many illnesses and benefits you in a myriad of ways but not just the inside that it cures, also finds a place in beauty treatments and is used to brighten dull skin and acne issues.

Bacteria like Cutibacterium acnes can contribute to acne’s inflammatory lesions. In a 2017 research, turmeric extracts were evaluated using various solvents such as water, ethanol, hexane, and dichloromethane.

The researchers discovered that the combination of one of the solvents and turmeric extract might be a potential source of natural anti-acne-inducing bacteria after assessing its antioxidant activity.

Turmeric for Digestion

Turmeric has lately gained recognition for its ability to decrease IBS symptoms. IBS is a digestive condition that produces symptoms such as stomach pains, diarrhoea, and constipation.

The origin of IBS is unclear, and there are presently no treatments available. IBS symptoms are generally treated with medication and lifestyle modifications, which typically include dietary changes.

Including turmeric into a healthy diet-based approach to treating IBS symptoms is a simple step to take.

The muscles get steep and sore if you haven’t been doing much workout for some time  and the stress put on muscles on first day can lead to muscle soreness which is also called Delayed Onset (DOMS) Muscle Soreness.
