Cocos also require high humidity for optimal growth, which makes it unusual for low humidity zones to occur (e.g. in the Mediterranean), even in places where temperatures are sufficiently high. It is exceedingly difficult to start and thrive without constant watering in arid regions.
Notwithstanding the origin, the cocoon expanded over most of the tropics, and in many cases, it has supported maritime populations. The fruit is light and booming and spreads by sea currents.
Coconut produces

This tree is so essential not only to our culture, but to the globe as a whole, that no portion of it is misused or discarded. Tender coconut serves as a pleasant drink, and the pulp component of the tender coconut is equally excellent. Some of its produces are –
Tender coconut juice is fermented to produce toddy, a slightly alcoholic beverage.
Ripe coconut is used to make excellent curries, and coconut oil is often used for frying.
Jaggery, also known as palm sugar, is extracted from sap and fermented to produce toddy, a slightly alcoholic beverage.
The leaves are matted and utilised as a construction material in the huts for the roof and side walls. The dried leaf sticks will be fashioned into broomsticks.
Other pieces are used as firewood.
Ripened coconuts can be eaten as seeds or processed to extract oil and plant milk from the flesh, charcoal from the hard shell, and coir from the fibre husk.
The husk is particularly rigid when the nut is still green, although green nuts seldom fall, only when they have been damaged by mould, etc. By the time the nut falls naturally, the husk has turned brown, the coir has dried and softened. The result of this is a coconut which we use while cooking or in sweets.
People working in coconut farming contribute significantly to the country’s industrial output.

The endosperm within the coconut is thin and delicate when it is still green, making it a popular snack. The major purpose to harvest the nut at that time, however, is to drink its water; a large nut contains up to one litre of pleasant liquid. When the nut has ripened and the outer husk has gone brown, it will fall from the tree on its own a few months later. At that point, the endosperm had thickened and solidified, and the coconut water had turned bitter.
