Human beings or homo sapiens are the most remarkable species amongst all the species available on this earth. It can easily be seen in comparison with how far we have traveled in a short time since we climbed down out of trees and emerged out of the caves. The speed with which we are currently advancing leaves the future open to a wide range of speculation. In this process of human evolution, the last century has put this process at a fast pace.

“Economic growth has become the secular religion of advancing societies”, said, Daniel Bell in “The Cultural Contradiction Of Capitalism”. The value of the rising value of standards of living lies, not just in the concrete improvement it brings to now individuals lives, but in how it shapes the social, political, and ultimately the moral character of people. The familiar balancing of the equation of material positives against moral negatives is a false selection.
Most of the binding elements of human values, such as wisdom which governs (Knowledge, integrity, and individual morality), faith respect, honesty, and universal cooperation with a high degree of tolerance have got disintegrated and evaporated. There is a complete focus, only on economic and political values, designed under the cover of welfare and development, which are becoming disruptive and destructive.
“Equity or Equality? Moral judgments follow the money”, said Peter De Sciulli. We found that people also adjust their moral values depending on which principle benefits them the most. Our moral principles are more flexible and self-serving then we would, like to admit.
The pursuit of self-interest is tempered, however by the constraints of convenience. People seek not only to benefit themselves but also to persuade other people also, that they are morally right in doing so. A complete formation of a new society with newer values.

Generally, we think of economic growth in terms of material considerations versus moral ones. Economic developments, industrialization, GDP levels, and more recently globalization, often bring undesirable side effects. They are like damage to the environment, unhealthy competitions, homogenization of what used to be distinctive cultures. Also, do we have the right to burden our future generations or even other species on the earth from our materialistic advantages?
Will the unhindered and unchecked lust for growth and development or the actions we take to achieve them put our moral, rather the physical existence in question? In the last few decades, technologies also have played a great role in shaping human values in societies. Emerging technologies have an important role in an ever-evolving process of human values.
The internet could have been the basis for radically inclusive societies, where networked communities actively define their collective future. Change in digital life is human driven. Technology will only amplify the social structures that created it. The polarization of power, knowledge, resources, and wealth characterized much of today’s world. Digital technologies can be a great enabler, but the question is an enabler of what and for whom?
A tool that could have empowered the people now became a tool for mass surveillance and population control. A tool that could have strengthened the social fiber, by allowing the people to know each other, now became a platform for mudslinging. We shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us.

Sometimes in the past, certain values have been held in high esteem as a result of which, the societies had been peaceful, cooperative, hardworking, and virtuous. Families are the heaven of security in this heartless world.
Family is the sole medium for the transmission of family values. But human values only become important as motivators when the basic needs are already met. Psychologists propose that people have an innate sense of values and personal preferences.
They tend to get buried under death layers of social demands and expectations (social morals). There are other reasons also, why we might be out of touch with our values. Most of the time people are too busy to think beyond their survival level.
The very basis of technological development and financial decisions should be based more on social, environmental, and moral values. In the absence of which, the rapidly growing pressures in the form of population growth, ecological degradation, unhealthy competition converting into conflicts, power struggle converting into wars are the realities of today’s developing world.
Human needs to realize the importance of sustainability and equality. In the future, people will live increasingly in the world of ideas, concepts, impressions, and interpretations.
