Life is never complete, perfect, or absolute. We are always on a quest to achieve or attain it. That’s why it’s called the journey of life. This constant transformation is governed by internal and external factors acting as catalysts for change, happening every moment. This nonstop transformation is the very basis and proof that we are alive, and it’s also part of our continuous evolution. This imperfection is not a weakness, sin, or anything wrong. It’s simply a part of perfection. Because every moment we live is perfect, but to move to the next moment, we need to do something additional. This gap between the next moment and the present moment is imperfection.

Our existence is directly linked to our conscious level. We can say that “Humans are sentient beings who access the surrounding physical world through their conscious experience.” We are only what and how we observe, perceive, analyze, decide, and act. These factors are the building blocks of our conscious level. Sentience or awareness cannot miraculously emerge out of insentient matter. According to physical laws, nothing qualitatively different can emerge from physical equations that contain only classical physical qualities such as mass, charge, mass, and time. Consciousness can only be potent if it is present in some form inside the physical equations. According to the modern theory of quantum physics, sentience is a fundamental property of elementary physical particles. It implies that consciousness evolved from causally potent sentient matter in order to confer an advantage in the struggle for survival in this world or universe.
Our consciousness is not a kind of behavior or action. It’s a state of existence. Spiritual evolution is also a matter of consciousness. It’s very different from intelligence. Evolution is about adding more shades, including a greater spectrum of life, to our own identity. At the lower stages of living beings, including that of primitive human evolution, it’s all limited to “me.” But as we evolve, we begin to include awareness of others, concern for their well-being, and service to them. So, the law of physics that states the universe is constantly expanding is a symbol of human consciousness that is always expanding. Life is nothing but a continuous process happening in the form of an unfolding evolution.

Every decision and action in our life is driven by the factors comprising our conscious level. They work in a perfect order and precise series. It’s like our universe possesses an internal order, one that could be understood through observations and reason. This is how they are the controllers of our destiny, which is, in fact, nothing more than our conscious level. A philosophical principle states that “manifestations” are only for the benefit of others. The body is also a manifestation. So, there must be a special beneficiary apart from the body itself. We can distinguish between the body and its owner, in the same way, the difference between living life and the very purpose of life.
If we don’t expand our vision beyond this life and appreciate and attain the very purpose of life during this lifetime itself, then the whole journey of life becomes meaningless. It’s like boarding a stationary train with all the facilities and comforts to travel, only to disembark after a prolonged period at the same place where we boarded. The purpose is served only when the train carries us to our destination. Comforts are good only as long as they don’t interfere with the journey of life. The journey of life must be continued. It should prevail against death. This can be made possible simply by creating and leaving a legacy of good acts (welfare of fellow living beings), which can be followed in an improvised manner by someone next in that series.
