As usual,  while going through the newspaper in the morning, the very first page comprises the news in an order. First on climate “Italy faces drought alert as Venice canals run dry”. “Rain-free France marches record 31-day dry spell”. “Temperature in Delhi in February broke 17 years record”. Second on geo-political, “Biden in Poland says US and allies have Ukraine’s back in the war”. “Lanka to postpone local polls due to lack of funds”. “Putin pulls back from N treaty with US, delivers N warning”. “Russia becoming a terrorist state Kyiv”. ” Iranian foundation offers land to Rushdie attackers”.  ” China diplomat says Russia ties rock solid, Xi may visit Moscow”. And in rest, “Six dead in latest Turkiye Syria border quake”. “Joshimath cracks are up to half km. long, 2 feet wide, Survey”. “Hizb commander from Kashmir shot dead in Pak”. “Adani lost 10.40 lakh crores of his total market cap” I got sick and asked a question from myself. What is happening around, “Are We Sitting On A Boiling Pot Where Everything Is Going To Melt Down?”

While looking back, in India only, we had seen so many changes in comfort level in our lives in the last few decades. Now we have multiple numbers of outlets with endless varieties of food to eat with facilities of home delivery. In cities availability of water has grown better qualitatively and quantitatively. On the health sector front, we have hospitals with all the modern facilities. The quality of roads has considerably improved. We are closely connected through mobiles and the Internet. We have a better mode of commutation from road to air. It seems as if we have moved from poverty to prosperity. There are tiresomely long lines at the airport. There are more cars and two-wheelers than people on the road. The waiting time for some premium cars is more than one year. Does that mean people or society as a whole have grown richer? No, it’s not.

The real picture is entirely different. Inflation is at its peak. Everything is available, but it’s beyond the reach of the common man. Most of the time, rooms are not available in five-star hotels, but the government has to provide five kilogram grains free to eighty crore people every month. GDP is improving year on year, but unemployment is increasing steeply and consistently. The collection of GST has increased considerably, but states are in the trap of debt. The stock market is up, but employment is down underlying the disconnect between the Market and the real economy.

The merger of business and politics led to what a renowned journalist has described as “Conglomerate” capitalism. In all the core sectors, a few control a combined market share that is greater than 70% under a systematically protected environment. Now the regime doles out favors to create super Giants that funnel it (the system), tons of money. It seems as if states all over the world are dominated by oligarchs. We live in an unequal world. So after leaving very few, the rest of the people are boiling in a hot pot of life.

Nations are failing. As per the world bank report, out of the list of fifty-three countries, some have already grown bankrupt, and the rest are on the verge of bankruptcy. First corona and then Russia and Ukraine war has created a series of devastating incident which is going to have a long-term impact in terms of climatic conditions, social conditions, and political conditions. The whole situation directly affects approximately half of the population of world. The situation world facing today is not that it has happened suddenly or overnight. The whole world got trapped in the cobweb of very systematic, unregulated, and power-hungry forces that have driven the mirage of, development and consumerism as the only way of life. The unreasonable and astronomical debts taken by the states and corporates from various international institutions, bond market, and private agencies in the world has completely derailed their political systems, social fabrics, and national aspirations. And the result is this uncontrollable volatility in the world.

The world now is on a fragile turf. Each society functions with a set of economic and political rules created and enforced by the state and the citizens collectively. Economic institutions shape economic incentives to be saved and further investment, which help in the process of development, innovation, and adoption of new technologies. It is the political institution and the process of a nation that determines what kind of economic system and institutions people live under.

Generally, the political powers in today’s world, instead of working for the welfare of the people, have only been working with the agenda of amassing their fortunes and remaining in power. Consequently, they have mastered the art to control and use of power and capacity of the state, to regulate and govern society and the country. The worst part is the role played by unregulated and uncontrolled social media, which is systematically turning societies and humanity into ungovernable groups of people.

The outcome is this overall fallout and the chaos we are witnessing today. The whole world has converted into either a direct or a proxy battle zone. There’s an absolute deficit of trust among the nations. We have grown insensitive, indifferent, and isolated. Everybody is complaining and cribbing, but very few are talking about the solution which is EMPATHY, COMPASSION, and HUMANITY. The modern definition of growth which we have got conditioned to pursue is money, success, power, and prestige. It has confined us to individual entities. The finer things of life have evaporated on the hot pot of volatility. Ironically, the brutal fact is that we have accepted this conditioning of separateness as a fact of our existence. In these conditions, the survival of humanity is difficult and distant.
