E-commerce industry is a growing industry with something new coming up every day and we have to adapt to it soon to make online buying easy.

Mr Mukesh Lekhwani was working as an advertising professional in Delhi before moving back to his hometown Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He started his fruit trading business as well as Krishibazaar.

The idea was born in 2018 when he felt that agriculture goods need their special online marketplace. He started this project all alone. It was just an idea at that time. It took him almost a year to collect information, finalize the type of services that will be required and finally getting a good company to develop the website and Android App. It has taken almost 2 years from scratch to hiring staff and finally kick-start operations.farming

It was a small team of 4. They have just started and had over 100 products in their marketplace. They have hired people who wanted to explore and pitch in for every new thing they can add to Krishi Bazar website. They hire people who wish to do something different than the tried & tested formulas
The journey up till now in Krishi Bazar has been exciting. While he has come across scattered views of people on the project, most common of them being ‘Is the farmer that educated to buy online?’ Answering this was tough, but all doubts were cleared when the first order they got was from a small village of Rajasthan “Hapu Ki Dhani” you can Google it. The buyer didn’t even mention his building name or plot name, he said “Bohot Chhota gaon hai, phone Karega courier wala toh mil jayega”. So that’s where all the jinx got broken.
A second good omen was the person they hired in their IT team was a farmer. From Monday to Friday he handles the website and on weekends he is on the farm with his father. Farmers of India have worked hard to educate their next generation. They are doctors, engineers, IT professionals, Civil servants and a lot more.

Selling farming products come with a completely new set of issues. Most of the farming products are bulky and heavy to ship. Sending them across through regular couriers is by far the biggest challenge. Second, is to convince companies that selling online won’t hamper their offline setup
On environmental issues, Mukesh feels It’s the need of the hour. We have to treat the environment the way we treat our body. Like exercise, we should devote sometime of our daily routine to issues that are harming our ecosystem. Collective efforts are needed so that we can seed the importance of the environment in everybody’s life. Pool a ride, get back to cycles, have at least one solar equipment in the home, use non-electric types of equipment when possible. We have to protect our Environment like our own baby.
